The Woodwind WiFi 24 is what happens when a company focuses on getting the basics right instead of chasing features. Solid, reliable, and honest about what it is.

7.4/10 Punteggio Generale
7.2 Qualita Costruttiva
7.5 Prestazioni
7.2 Rapporto Qualita-Prezzo
7.8 Facilita d'Uso
## The Quiet Competent One In a market full of pellet grills shouting about WiFi, Bluetooth, apps, and AI-powered cooking, the Camp Chef Woodwind WiFi 24 takes a different approach. It does the fundamentals well, keeps its promises, and lets the food do the talking. ## Build and Design The Woodwind WiFi 24 offers 811 sq in of total cooking space across two racks. The construction is solid mid-range — better than Pit Boss, not as tank-like as Yoder. The powder coat finish is even, and the hardware feels durable. The Ash Kickin cleanout system is a genuine innovation. Pull a lever and ash dumps into a cup below. No more scooping, no more mess. It sounds simple because it is, and that simplicity is what makes it brilliant. ## PID Controller and WiFi Camp Chef's PID controller is one of the more consistent in this price range. Temperature holds within 10-15F of target, which is solid for a sub-$800 pellet grill. The WiFi connection via the Camp Chef Connect app was more reliable than Pit Boss — I had maybe two disconnections over ten cooks. The app itself is clean and functional. Temperature monitoring, alarm settings, smoke level control, and meat probes all work as advertised. It is not the prettiest app, but it is one of the most reliable. ## Cooking Performance I ran the Woodwind through a gauntlet: brisket (12 hours at 250F), ribs (3-2-1 method), chicken (350F), and burgers (high heat). It performed competently at all tasks. Not spectacularly — the smoke flavor at low temps is mild (typical pellet grill trait) and the high-heat sear is underwhelming without the Sidekick attachment. Speaking of the Sidekick — this optional side burner ($200 extra) is where the Woodwind gets interesting. It accepts a flat-top griddle, a sear box, or a BBQ ginger (pizza oven). The sear box delivers genuine 900F searing capability, which addresses the pellet grill's weakest point. ## What Holds It Back The Woodwind WiFi 24 is a 24-inch grill, which means the cooking surface is adequate for a family but tight for entertaining. The hopper holds 22 lbs, which is fine for most cooks. Build quality, while good, does not match the premium feel of a Traeger Ironwood at a similar price. Without the Sidekick, the Woodwind is a good but unremarkable pellet grill. The Sidekick transforms it into something more versatile, but at $200 extra, you are pushing into higher price territory.

Camp Chef Woodwind WiFi 24

7.4/10

The Camp Chef Woodwind WiFi 24 is the reliable mid-range pellet grill that does everything well without excelling at any one thing. Its Ash Kickin cleanout is genuinely clever, its WiFi is more reliable than most, and the optional Sidekick adds real versatility. It is not exciting, but it is trustworthy — and in the world of pellet grills, trustworthy counts for a lot.
